This past weekend, a jam-packed van full of my upstart earth-building communards accepted an invitation to tour X-Town: a loose-knit community of fellow desert dwellers and eco-individualists. I don't want to say too much about them – or ourselves, for that matter – to protect the privacy of the people involved, especially since some of these structures are renegade. But I don't mind posting these pictures online – they're so far removed from modern-day conventional construction, I highly doubt anyone out there could pinpoint X-Town's exact location. Thank you, A & R, for hosting us and taking us time-travelling around your beautiful Nouveau Western town!
